Janell Chinn has been leading and serving in various ministry contexts for four decades and has served on staff at Reno Christian Fellowship in full-time ministry for over 20 years. Her roles have included oversight and development of pastoral staff, execution of church vision, GroupLife Ministry, and Women’s Ministry. She has taught the Bible weekly for decades in various capacities at RCF, as well as other church and retreat venues.
A love for knowing, studying, and teaching God’s Word is the foundation of everything she does in life. She has led hundreds of women through an Inductive Bible Study process, focusing on a solid understanding of the text and then learning to apply those truths to everyday life. One of Janell’s greatest joys is developing leaders in their ministry context with an emphasis on Spiritual Formation.
Janell’s love for learning has motivated her to pursue ongoing training and to invest in the educating of others. She holds a Master of Divinity from Western Seminary and a Doctorate in Leadership Formation from Fuller Theological Seminary. As an adjunct seminary professor, Janell has taught Bible Study Methods for Multnomah University, and Women in Leadership at Western Seminary.
In her personal world, Janell thrives on time with family, hanging out with friends, and opening her home to whoever God brings her way. She and her husband, Brad, love to enjoy time with their three married children and four grandchildren any chance they can get!
